  • Anna Lou Hoar, 88, of Monroe City, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Jefferson City Regional Hospital, Jefferson City, Missouri.
    She was born November 12, 1924, in Atlanta, Missouri, the daughter of Carl and Irene Hayden Harrison.
    She attended White Country School and was a graduate of Monroe City High School, Monroe City, Missouri. She was a member of the Monroe City Methodist Church.
    Anna worked for F&M Bank, Hannibal, Missouri, for many years. She was involved with the OATS organization and enjoyed spending time at the Monroe City Nutrition Center. Most of all Anna enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter and great-grandchildren.
    She married Henry Franklin Hoar October 22, 1954. He passed away April 3, 1989.
    Survivors include one daughter, Denise Green, Jefferson City, Missouri; two brothers, Joe Harrison and wife, Dorothy, Tucson, Arizona, and Tommy Hayden, Katy, Texas; one granddaughter, Kelly Green, Jefferson City, Missouri; two great-grandcildren, Adrian and Syann Richmond, Jefferson City, Missouri; one stepgreat-grandson, Malcolm Stucker; and several nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one sister, Bonnie Mortallaro; and one brother, J.C. Harrison.
    Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at the Garner Funeral Chapel, Monroe City, Missouri. Pastor Olivia Earlywine will officiate, with burial at the Holy Rosary Cemetery, Monroe City, Missouri.
    Visitation will be from noon Wednesday until time of services at the Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City.
    Pallbearers will be Ed Talton, Raymond McCarty and Jerry Elsberry.
    Memorials have been suggested to the American Cancer Society.
    Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Garner Funeral Home and Chapel, Monroe City, Missouri.
