Services for Russell Dean Woodhurst, 60, of Perry, Mo., will be at 10 a.m., Monday, April 15, 2013, at Cannon Dam Opry with Reverends Kenny Sharp and Phyllis Hart officiating. Burial will be at Lick Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with Masonic services at 7 p.m. at Cannon Dam Opry. Services are under the direction of Bienhoff Funeral Home.
Mr. Woodhurst passed away at 10:20 a.m. April 11, 2013, at Boone County Hospital, Columbia.
He was born on October 9, 1952, in Hannibal, the son of Hazzard Willie and Dorothy Lee Clary Woodhurst.
He was married to Kathryn Elaine Alexander on September 13, 1974, in Perry, and she survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Dorothy Woodhurst of Perry; one son and his fiancé, Aaron Woodhurst and Barbara Young of Center; one daughter and her husband, Amy Renee and Donnie Branham of Perry; four brothers, Roger (Peggy) Woodhurst of Boonville, Jimmy (Cyndy) Woodhurst, Brian (Delores) Woodhurst, Ronnie Woodhurst and his fiancé, Sherry Parsons, all of Perry; five sisters, Shirley Smith of Denver, Colorado, Mary (Dick) Bloomfield of Perry, Marie Lewandowski of St. Charles, Brenda (Tommy) Smith of Littleton, Colorado, and Ruth Ann (Kent) Berrey of Madison; eight grandchildren, Austin Woodhurst, Bradley, Elizabeth, Kristin, Haley, and Emily Branham, all of Perry, Kymberly and Madison Woodhurst of Laddonia; and two sisters-in-law, Rose and Linda Woodhurst, both of Perry,
He was preceded in death by his father, Hazzard Woodhurst; two brothers, Neil and Billy Woodhurst; and two brothers-in-law, Johnny Smith and Ed Lewandowski.
Mr. Woodhurst was a lifetime area resident. He worked as a laborer with Labor Local 424 prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Lick Creek Masonic Lodge 302. He enjoyed visiting with his coffee crew and other friends and family. He truly loved his grandchildren and was always ready to do something with them.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Perry Nutrition Center.
Pallbearers will be Jamie, Dalton, Shelton, Tanner, and Evan Woodhurst, Luke Mitchell and Travis Sharp.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin, Keith, and Jerrid Woodhurst, Ronnie Belshe, Terric Roland, Eddie Smith, Andy Culbertson, Kent Camden and Todd Sharp.
