Two men are charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 92-year-old Missouri woman.
Investigators say the Moberly woman’s death apparently was part of a two-day crime spree.
Randolph County authorities charged 18-year-old Jeffery Jay Nichols and 22-year-old Christopher D. Lewis Monday, and bond was set at $1 million.
The two men were arrested in Macon after a search that began in Randolph County on Sunday.
Prosecutors say the two men allegedly stole several cars, shot two people, assaulted another woman, shoplifted and stole guns in Randolph and Macon counties.
The woman was found dead at her Moberly home when police tried to contact her about a vehicle that had been burned earlier in the day. Authorities aren’t releasing her name or how she died.
