  • Robert (Bob) Maiden, 67, of Hannibal, Mo., formerly of Curryville, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, at the Hannibal Regional Hospital.

  • Robert (Bob) Maiden, 67, of Hannibal, Mo., formerly of Curryville, passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, at the Hannibal Regional Hospital.
    Funeral services will be held Monday, April 1, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green with Lay Pastor Chris Gamm officiating. Burial will be in the Curryville Cemetery with military honors conducted by the VFW Post No. 5553 and the Missouri Military Honors.
    Visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
    Mr. Maiden was born on May 9, 1945, in Curryville, the son of Ernest E. and Flossie D. (Blanset) Maiden.
    Surviving are three sisters, Alma Jean Hickerson of Florissant, Mary E. Nelson and husband Fred of Vandalia, JoAnn Powers and husband Wayne of Wentzville; a very special friend, Virginia Dodson and her family of Hannibal; and many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Albert E. and Bennett C. Maiden.
    Bob grew up in Curryville and attended the Curryville schools. He then moved to Hannibal, where he has lived the last 35 years. He went to Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Palmyra in 2011 due to declining health.
    Robert was in the United States Air Force in 1969. Bob was a Christian by faith and had practiced his faith through the Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Hannibal Saddle Club. Bob loved animals, fishing, hunting and hiking in the woods looking for ginseng roots. He had a lot of friends and never knew a stranger.
    Pallbearers will be Elwyn Maiden, Billy G. Maiden, Rick Hickerson, Allen Nelson, Tracey Maiden and Steven Maiden.
    Memorials may be made Humane Society or donor’s choice.
