trick Montgomery, 88, of Hannibal, Missouri, died at 4:45 a.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013, at Willow Care Center in Hannibal.
Private funeral services and visitation with Full Military Honors by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post #55 will be Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Father Nicholas Reid will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal.
Mr. Montgomery was born November 30, 1924, in Hannibal, MO to Herman and Myrtle O’Brien Montgomery.
He was married to Julia Hold on October 14, 1946, in Linz, Austria. She preceded him in death December 26, 2007.
Survivors include 3 sons, Edward Montgomery (Mary Lou) of Hannibal, MO, Eugene Montgomery (Florida) of Clarkton, NC, and Stephan Montgomery (Priscilla) of Hannibal, MO; 1 daughter, Madeline Summers (Mike) of Kansas City, MO; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by 1 son, Michael Montgomery; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Mr. Montgomery was a United States Army Veteran. He served during World War II in Germany. Mr. Montgomery worked as a car man for more than 40 years for the Burlington Northern and CB & Q Railroads. He was a maintenance man at the St. Thomas Seminary in Hannibal for 25 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and listening to St. Louis Cardinals baseball. Mr. Montgomery was a member Holy Family Catholic Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Donor’s Choice in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Patrick Montgomery, John Sutton, Stephan Montgomery, Brandon Summers and Mike Summers.
