Elaine Willey, 86, of rural Monroe City, Missouri (formerly of Shelby County, Missouri), passed away Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the Monroe City Manor Care Center, Monroe City, Missouri. She was born July 8, 1926, in Marion County, Missouri, the daughter of Lloyd T. and Anna Mae Matlock Pangborn.
Elaine was a member of the Emden Christian Church, Emden, Missouri. She attended Emden, Missouri country school and graduated from Shelbyville, Missouri High School. She and her husband Archie owned and operated Willey’s Gift Shop on Route J next to the Landing. She was a lifelong member of the National Grange.
Elaine enjoyed crocheting, seamstress work, and most of all spending time with her family.
She married Archie Dean Willey, May 27, 1947, in Shelby County, Missouri; he survives of the home. Also surviving, four sons: Jerry Willey and wife Barbra, Enid, Oklahoma; Lindell Willey, Davenport, Iowa; David Willey and wife Rebecca, Davenport, Iowa and Randy Willey, Davenport, Iowa; one brother Dwayne Pangborn and wife Betty, Columbia, Missouri; also survived by 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Janice Willey, and one brother, Gerald Pangborn.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 21, 2013, at the Emden Christian Church, Rev. Steve Goughnour will officiate, burial from Emden Memorial Gardens, Emden, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5 till 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City, Missouri.
Active pallbearers will be Jason Willey, Jerad Willey, David M. Willey, Tyler Willey, T.L. Pangborn and Joe Pangborn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dillon Willey, Justin Willey and Caleb Willey.
