  • Three area residents were injured in a collision at 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 15, on eastbound U.S. 36 one mile west of Clarence, Mo.

  • Three area residents were injured in a collision at 8:30 p.m. Friday, March 15, on eastbound U.S. 36 one mile west of Clarence, Mo.
    The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Jessica M. Wood, 34, of Clarence, Mo., was driving a 2001 Chrysler Sebring and attempting to make a right turn onto County Road 3011.
    Officers said a 2001 Chevrolet Impala driven by Lindsay L. Jordan, 17, of Shelbina, Mo., rear-ended Wood’s car.
    The Jordan car stopped in the median, and the Wood car stopped against a fence off the south side of the highway.
    Jordan was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. She went to Samaritan Hospital.
    Wood suffered moderate injuries and went by ambulance to Samaritan Hospital. Her passenger, Raymond C. Wood, 45, of Clarence, Mo., suffered serious injuries. He was flown to the University Hospital in Columbia, Mo. The Woods were not wearing seat belts.
