The Hannibal Early Bird Kiwanis Club will sponsor its 26th annual free Easter egg hunt for children age 9 and under on Saturday, March 30, at the Mabee Sports Complex, Hannibal-LaGrange University.
The doors will be open at 8:30 a.m., and the event will begin at 9 a.m. with drawings for numerous prizes that have been donated by local merchants and industries. Each child will receive one ticket for the prize drawings, and additional tickets may be purchased for a $1 donation per ticket.
The egg hunt will begin at approximately 10 a.m. on the lawn of the sports complex, with 8,000 plastic eggs to be found.
Three age groups will find the eggs, toddlers to age 3, 4 to 6 years old, and 7 to 9 years old.
Children must be able to find the eggs on their own. Each child also will receive a goodie bag.
The Easter bunny will be present to pose for photos with the children.
Letters have been mailed to area businesses, thanking them for past support and requesting donations for this year’s egg hunt. Anyone not already contacted is invited to contribute by mailing a check to the Hannibal Early Bird Kiwanis, Box 1233, Hannibal, Mo. 63401. All funds received will be used to buy prizes for the children.
