The U.S Army Corps of Engineers in partnership with the Mark Twain Lake Chamber of Commerce are inviting all area schools to Mark Twain Lake on Friday, May 3, for Discovery Day at the M.W. Boudreaux Memorial Visitor Center.
A large array of exhibitors will be on hand to provide a broad variety of educational opportunities for students to learn on an interactive basis. That list includes: Missouri Department of Conservation, Mark Twain Lake Sailing Association, Missouri Highway Patrol, Perry Fire Department, Master Gardeners, local law enforcement officers and the NEMO Backcountry Horsemen. School officials are encouraged to fill out a registration form for each participating class. The registration form is available online at http://www.mvs.usace.army.mil/MarkTwain/mtl.html . Registrations need to be received by April 12. Classes that register early will have the opportunity to request a tour of the Clarence Cannon Power Plant. Tours will be limited to the first 10 registering classes and coordinated by the event coordinator.
For information or to request a registration form, e-mail the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Mark Twain Lake at email@example.com or call (573) 735-4097.
