The Missouri State Emergency Management Agency and city of Hannibal/Marion County Office of Emergency Management are sponsoring an earthquake awareness “town hall meeting” starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, at the Shirley Bomar Community Center in Hannibal.
The public is invited to come and get information about earthquakes and the possible effects a large earthquake in the Midwest could have on Northeast Missouri. Doors will open at 6 p.m. so that the public can view exhibits. At 6:30 p.m., the event continues with presentations from experts about the science and safety-related aspects of earthquakes. The public can also ask them questions about earthquakes during this program.
