  • Evelyn Lorraine Pyse, 73, of Palmyra, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013, at her home. Evelyn was born July 14, 1939, in  Monroe City, Missouri, to Clifton Cooper and Edna Phelps Green. Evelyn was married to Robert L. Pyse November 1, 1957, in Palmyra, Missouri. He preceded her in death March 15, 2012.
    Survivors include: sons, Kevin Pyse and wife Julie of Hannibal; and Rob Pyse and wife Gina of Hannibal; grandchildren: Lindsey M. Pyse, Robert C. Pyse, Abby W. Pyse, and Emily A. Pyse, all of Hannibal; mother, Edna Zeiger of Palmyra; sisters: Virginia (Bill) Fessenden of Palmyra; and Lois (Kenny) Bugh of Palmyra; and brother, Donald (Claudia) Green of Hannibal. She was preceded in death by her husband; father; and step-father, Carl Zeiger.
    Mrs. Pyse had retired from the Hannibal Clinic after 27 years of service. Her career led to her membership in ‘Kindhearts’ an organization providing a helping hand to patients and their families. Also, she was a licensed beautician and served many customers, friends, and family.
    She attended both Philadelphia and Palmyra Schools.
    Evelyn loved cooking, gardening, mushroom hunting, basket collecting, tending to her flowers, and hunting for antiques. Her passion was spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities and sporting events. She was a Christian by faith.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 25, 2013, at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Rev. Eric Anderson will officiate. Private family burial will be at the Ebenezer Cemetery in Philadelphia, Missouri. Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Monday at the Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Kindhearts or the charity of the donor’s choice.
    Honorary Bearers will be Evelyn’s grandchildren, Barb Kindel, Jean Chapman, Carol Rose, Joan Rothweiler, Debbie Maher, Marquita Bannon and Charlene Gorden.
