Lawrence (Ed) Edward Payne Sr., 80, Elyria, Ohio, formerly of Hannibal, died at 3:25 p.m. Feb. 16, 2013, at Ames Hospice Center in Westlake, OH. Mr. Payne was born Jan 19, 1933, to Wilhelmina Juliana Passig Payne and Lawrence Lee Payne.

Lawrence (Ed) Edward Payne Sr., 80, Elyria, Ohio, formerly of Hannibal, died at 3:25 p.m. Feb. 16, 2013, at Ames Hospice Center in Westlake, OH. Mr. Payne was born Jan 19, 1933, to Wilhelmina Juliana Passig Payne and Lawrence Lee Payne.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Derald Lee Payne; a stepson, Kevin Longbrake; and a step grandson, Jonathan Longbrake.
He is survived by his wife, Gretchen Longbrake Payne; a son, Lawrence Edward Payne Jr. (Elizabeth), Boonville, MO; a daughter, Janet Payne Willett (Eddie), Hannibal, MO; a stepson, Louis Dale Longbrake, Florida; a stepdaughter, Michele Reeve (Tom), Waynesville, MO; four brothers, Bernie L. Payne (Sandy), Waterloo, IA, R. Orville Payne, Carson, CA, Larry L Payne (Cathy), Lathrop, MO, and Rodger Payne (Cindy), Kearney, MO; and one sister, Evelyn Davis, Independence, MO. He had 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  
Mr. Payne was a member of First Baptist Church, Sheffield Lake, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army and was an engineer on the Burlington Northern Railroad.
