All wrong
Mr. Klassen is all wrong about the 2nd  Amendment.   The specific intent of the amendment’s authors was that individual citizens would have a means to resist a tyrannical government if the need arose.  In 1789 Tench Coxe, Pennsylvania delegate to the constitutional convention wrote in the Federal Gazette that the 2nd Amendment affirmed the people’s “right to keep and bear their private arms” against “civil rulers” and “military forces” that “might pervert their power to the injury of their fellow citizens.”   James Madison, the amendment’s author, thanked Tench Coxe for his helpful support of the amendment.  This information and much more is in a very good article in the 2-11-13 issue of National Review by Charles Cooke.  As has been said, if the government has the right to take away your arms, you are a subject and not a citizen.
