90, of  Barry IL

Anna Mardell Furniss, 90, of  Barry IL, and formerly of Bloomington, IL, passed away at 6:35 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at the Barry Community Care Center, Barry IL.
Her funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Rev. Matt Vagle will officiate. Visitation will be noon-1 p.m. Friday at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, IL. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Park Lawn Cemetery, Barry, IL. Dr. Greg Maize will officiate. The family suggests memorials be made to the National Bowling Hall of Fame or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Anna was born September 15, 1922, in Adams County, IL, the daughter of Harold LeRoy and Mabel Young Furniss.
Surviving are one sister, Wanda Neff, Pittsfield, IL; one brother, Richard (June) Furniss, Hannibal, Missouri; her good friend, Earlene Nelson, Bloomington, IL; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert L. and William D. Furniss; and one nephew William Cawthon.
Anna retired from the Eureka Co., after 37 years of employment. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed traveling. She was a member of the National Bowling Assoc. and Retired National Secretaries Assoc. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan and enjoyed taking her three younger brothers to the baseball games and to the Sportsman’s Park.
