James sentenced tor robbery, tampering
Jesse G. James, 2101 Hope St., Hannibal, (born 1990) was sentenced to two terms with the Missouri Department of Corrections in Marion County Circuit Court at Hannibal on Feb. 4.
Judge Rachel Bringer Shepherd sentenced James to three years on a charge of tampering with a victim/witness in a felony prosecution, a Class C felony, and seven years for assault in the second degree, a Class C felony. James entered guilty pleas to both charges.
Sept. 10, officers of the Hannibal Police Department received a report from a subject that he had been assaulted and robbed at his residence, in the 2100 block of Hope St., earlier that evening. According to the victim, two subjects entered his residence while he was sleeping and assaulted him. The subjects allegedly took the victim's wallet, ATM card and stole his vehicle. Officers were able to locate the stolen vehicle and both suspects, who were taken into custody.
Grant Baker, the other man charged in this case, was sentenced to similar sentences on Jan. 29.
