Tree causes Sunday outage

While officials in New Orleans were still at a loss Monday to explain why a power outage struck during Sunday’s Super Bowl, the Hannibal Board of Public Works is citing a tree as the reason behind the loss of electrical service in a portion of the city early Sunday.

The outage happened at 1:15 a.m. and darkened an area on Hillcrest Drive. Service was restored in just over two hours.
