Susie A. Haynes, 101, of Hannibal, Missouri, died at 12:49 a.m. Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Beth Haven Nursing Home in Hannibal.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Father Nicholas Reid will officiate. Burial will be at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Hannibal.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Haynes was born October 18, 1911, in Dobra Niva, Slovakia to Andrew and Mary Fasanga Chmelko.
She was married to Charles Otis Haynes in Ilasco, Missouri. He preceded her in death June 21, 1973.
Survivors include 3 children: Helen Shively (Harlin “Shorty”); Charles Joseph Haynes (Betty); Olive Lucille Thomas; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; step father, John Sector who raised her; 1 daughter, Norma J. Crenshaw; 1 granddaughter, Susan Nicosia; grandson, Robert E. Thomas; and 2 sons-in-law: Donald Eugene Thomas and William J. Crenshaw.
Mrs. Haynes previously worked at the Hannibal Rubber Plant for over 25 years. She loved to bowl and enjoyed being with her family and her grandchildren. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years. Mrs. Haynes was also a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ilasco MO.
Memorial contributions may be made to Beth Haven Nursing Home or the American Diabetes Association in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Donald Ray Thomas, Charles Frederick Crenshaw, Jason Nicosia, Jake Brown, Kenny Wayne Crenshaw, and William Crenshaw.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harlin “Shorty” Shively, Jeff Rodenburg, and Carl Brown.
