  • Bill of Rights
    protects rights
The Bill of Rights is sacrosanct. It does not grant any rights. Rights do not come from an instrument of government. The Bill of Rights protects rights that are inherent in the individual that are God given, natural, and inalienable.  The Bill of Rights of the Constitution of the United States is to restrict government and protect individual rights. All presidents swear an oath of office to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. All military swear to defend the Constitution from the rank of private to general along with all city, state and federal government employees.  All law enforcement officers swear an oath to uphold the Constitution.  The Second Amendment is the cornerstone of our liberty.  That is exactly why our founders specifically stated, “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”  A militia being concerned citizens in a state, not a federal army.
The real motive behind additional gun restrictions has nothing to do with the security and welfare of the people.  The Obama administration states continually that they will not take guns away from law-abiding citizens who are hunters and collectors.  Nowhere in the Constitution is hunting ever mentioned. The Second Amendment is actually to protect the citizens from government. The depressing part is that a majority of the population now has no concept of the Constitution, and support liberal efforts to ignore the Second Amendment.
