Barefoot burglary suspect caught in Ralls County Tuesday afternoon.
When Cinderella left the ball in a hurry, she left behind a shoe. On Tuesday afternoon in Ralls County, a burglary suspect ran out of both his socks and shoes in making his escape.
Considering the afternoon temperature was hovering around 20 degrees, the barefoot suspect wanted for breaking into a residence just south of Hannibal might have actually been happy to be taken into custody.
Early Tuesday afternoon a resident of Pershing Road, located in northern Ralls County, returned home to find an individual inside their residence.
While the suspect, described as a sandy-haired white male in a tan jacket, made good his escape in the process of running away he lost his footwear.
Hannibal police and Ralls County deputies began looking for the individual in their respective jurisdictions. A short time later a shoeless man matching the suspect’s description was taken into custody.
While Ralls County Sheriff Gerry Dinwiddie was not releasing the suspect’s name Tuesday afternoon, he did say the individual is a resident of this area. According to Dinwiddie the suspect, who also has an outstanding warrant from Macon County, will at least face charges for burglary and trespassing in Ralls County.
