  • Alleged church burglars arrested

  • Two face burglary charges.

  • On Wednesday officers of the Hannibal Police Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 19-year-old Dylan R. Tate, of rural Marion County, in connection with recent burglaries occurring from November to December of 2012. Another suspect, 25-year-old Joshua S. Miller of Hannibal, was being held in the Pike County Jail on an unrelated Ralls County warrant.
    Warrants issued by the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County were served on Tate and Miller on Wednesday.  The warrants charged both men with Burglary Second Degree and had a bond set at $50,000.
    Tate and Miller are allegedly involved in two Hannibal church burglaries at the First Assembly of God Church, 1901 Missouri Ave., and the Embassy Christian Center, 600 North St., two residential burglaries in New London, two residential burglaries in rural Ralls County, one church burglary in New London and one church burglary in Marion County.
    Items taken in the burglaries include: firearms, computers, cash, jewelry, power and hand tools, safes, electronics and televisions. Some of the stolen items have been located and recovered.
    At last report, Miller remained in the Pike county Jail. Tate was being held in the Marion County Jail.
    According to Hannibal police, further charges are pending on both men.
    The Hannibal Police Department co-investigated the burglaries with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the New London Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.
