James M. Hagan, 73 of Hannibal, MO, died at 12:36 a.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m, Friday, January 4, 2013, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Hannibal, MO. Fr. Mike Quinn will officiate. Burial will be at St. Stephen’s Cemetery at Indian Creek, MO.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2012, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. A Rosary Service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hagan was born on October 13, 1939, in Hannibal, MO to Alvin E. and Gertrude E. Buckman Hagan.
Mr. Hagan was previously married to Gloria Sturtevant in 1959. She survives. He later married F. Jane Creech on April 3, 1983, in Hannibal, MO. She survives.
Other survivors include 2 sons, David M. Hagan (Kim) of Hannibal, MO and Michael J. Hagan (Michelle) of Joplin, MO; 5 stepsons, Arthur John “Guy” Blickhan, Joseph C. Blickhan, Nicholas A. Blickhan, David C. Blickhan and Dennis J. Blickhan; 1 brother, Larry Hagan (Rebecca) of Oak Grove, MO; 1 sister, Sr. Gertrude Marie Hagan S.S.N.D. of Chatawa, MS; 14 grandchildren, Ryan M. Hagan, Sean D. Hagan, April L. Blickhan, Lacey J. Blickhan, Joseph Blickhan Jr., Tyler W. Blickhan, Ashton Palmer, A.J. Blickhan, Adrienna Blickhan, Christiana Pickett, Joelean Miller, Christopher Blickhan, Toby Moss and Sean Ryan Blickhan; 4 great grandchildren, Devon Pickett, Caleb Pickett, Danica Miller, and Sean Miller; also surviving are brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hagan was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Albert Hagan; and 2 sisters, Sr. Alvin Marie Hagan S.S.N.D. and Teresa Gail Hagan.
Mr. Hagan was a graduate of Culver Stockton College in Canton, MO. He first farmed, then worked for the Marion County Sheriff’s Department and later retired from the Missouri Department of Agriculture as an investigator. Mr. Hagan enjoyed photography and loved to farm. He was a member of the Hannibal Knights of Columbus Council #907 and also a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, where he enjoyed singing in the choir there.
Pallbearers will be Ryan M. Hagan, Sean D. Hagan, A.J. Blickhan, Christopher D. Blickhan, Joseph Blickhan Jr. and Tyler W. Blickhan and Sean Ryan Blickhan.
Memorials may be made to the Holy Family Catholic Church New Building Project in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
