The Quinlins' home at 8 Homestead has a special decoration. It is a memory cross honoring all the victims of the Dec. 14 school shooting in Newtown, Conn.
Cindy and David Quinlin and their adult children, Andy and Audrey (and husband Aron) Lee all helped create this cross and the angels for each of the victims.
Each angel has the first name and date of birth of one of the victims of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, along with the mother of the shooter, who also was killed, Cindy explained.
"It was a family project," Cindy said. The Quinlins attend Holy Family Church, where on the Sunday after the massacre "Father Mike's message was about that.
"Father Mike (Quinn) said the children at Holy Family School - 'I feel like they are my kids.'
"All I could think about was all their families, all over the country," Cindy said.
"I wanted to do something, and my husband made the cross," Cindy continued. Audrey is a graphic artist and helped design the 27 angels.
"We worked on it together, and everybody had input," she said.
