The Hannibal Parks & Recreation is offering a walking/running training program that starts Monday, Dec. 31. The six-week program gets participants ready for the Catch Cupid if you Can 5K fun run and walk.
The training program offers suggestions for workouts four days a week, with three rest days.

The Catch Cupid if you Can is Feb. 9 at Riverview Park.
The event starts at 10 a.m., with registration beginning at 9 a.m. Participants should register by Jan. 25 to be guaranteed a T-shirt.
Proceeds go to Kids in Motion, which is part of Douglass Community Services. Kids in Motion is an employment program for at-risk teens and pre-teens which teaches the value of work and community. Participants in the KIM program often spend time in Riverview Park in the summer, picking up trash, weeding and clearing trails.
