Teresa Campbell has been delivering mail in Hannibal, Mo., since 1992, and has received cards and cookies for Christmas, but she was surprised with a special gift this year.
It is a Christmas message that uses eight candies to help complete the sentences.
“This was very unique,” Campbell said. These people (The Schlotes) on North Levering put it out.”
She brought it to the Courier-Post to be photographed. “I just wanted to share it so other people could see it,” she said.
The message, with the candies in quotation marks, is: We wanted to give you something “Extra” special for Christmas. We wish it could be a trip to new “York” or “100 Grand” but unfortunately it is not “Payday.” However we do want to wish you “Mounds” of “Almond Joy” this season! I hope this brings you “Snickers”! Please remember the “Riesen” we celebrate! Isaiah 9:6, For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulders, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Merry Christmas! - The Schlotes
