A good will greeting to all.

I think it’s safe to say the traditional “Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year” to everyone who glances at my blog.  This has been kind of an amazing ride for me.  I really never started out thinking about writing two segments every week, and some weeks, I find that a bit of a challenge.  I am so pleased when people in the community acknowledge that they read my blog and enjoy it.

I hope that everyone can have a wonderful holiday season.  So many things are marked by this time of year.  It’s a solemn time for every religion I know about in one way or another.   The end of one year and start of another holds all kinds of opportunities for refreshing ourselves.  Winter can be a difficult time, but after it comes spring, full of budding life that truly brings joy to us.  The drab grays of the winter turn to greens punctuated by vibrant colors of wild flowers, and all of this offers hope for the future.

We don’t know what’s coming in the year ahead.  Many will face difficulty and sorrow, but an equal number will be renewed and thrilled with options for an improved life.

This can also be a depressing time for some people, and if, as you’re reading this, you’re thinking that life just isn’t all that pleasant, dig down deep and remind yourself of the joys and goodness of life.  There are no silver platters.  We just have to make the best of what comes our way.

Help someone and you will find that in doing so, you have helped yourself.  Offer a smile and you will feel better about the face you’re wearing.  Be kind to others and you’ll notice that they will in turn be kind to you.  If you need help, don’t be afraid to ask.  There are many people willing to help.

I guess I could have stopped at “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”  Doesn’t that really say it all?
