Northbound motorists using McMasters Avenue (U.S. 61) in Hannibal found traffic restricted to one lane Wednesday morning while repairs were made to a manhole.
The work was taking place at the intersection of Hillside Drive and Marsh Avenue. Traffic was reduced to one lane from Rendlen Avenue to just north of Hillside Drive.
The northbound driving lane of the highway was expected to be reduced to one lane from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
As of 11 a.m. workers had poured the new concrete around the manhole. Barricades were being set in place and a couple of tarps were being used to cover the fresh concrete.
It appeared the project would be wrapped up before anticipated showers reached the Hannibal area Wednesday afternoon.
The project utilized personnel from the Missouri Department of Transportation and Hannibal Board of Public Works.
