The Hannibal wrestling team picked up its first home win of the season Tuesday night with a 57-24 win over Boonville.
Hannibal won four of its matches by pin.
Senior Jake Borgmeyer remained undefeated on the season when he pinned Boonville’s Brennan Hammers in the heavy weight class during the second period. Also winning via pin were Tyler Janes (132), Eli Ratliff (138), and Colby Collings (145).
The Pirates had five wins via forfeit as Boonville did not have anyone to enter in the 106, 113, 170, 182, and 192 weight classes. Earning forfeit wins were Austin Janes (106), Chandler Fohey (113), Austin Hawes (170), Brant Dooley (182), and Courvaria Rodgers (195).
The only match of the night that went all three rounds was Kyle Muehring’s. Muehring went on to beat Boonville’s Kyle Cook by a 9-5 decision.
In the exhibition rounds, Hannibal beat Boonville 16-12. Nick Meyer won by an 11-2 major decision in the 138 weight class. Hannibal’s other two wins came from Keyana Strickland and Harry Vessell. Strickton beat Ethan Hein by pin in 2:55 while Vessell also beat Hein by pin in 1:20.
