    84, of New London
    Mary Jo Brown Graham, 84, of New London, Mo., died Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at 3:02 a.m. in Blessing Hospital, Quincy, Ill. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2012, at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel, Pastor Tom Day, officiating. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park.
    Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services Friday, December 14, 2012, at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
    Mary Jo Brown Graham was born October 21, 1928, in Bowling Green, Mo., to Elmer E. and Bess Cash Brown. On February 21, 1968 in St. Louis, Mo., she married Robert G. Graham. They had one son, Bradford Lee Graham. The family took numerous road trips around the United State during Brad’s childhood. Mary Jo was very involved in all of his school activities.  
    “Jo” began her working career as a secretary in the Pike County Prosecuting Attorney’s office.
    After moving to New London, she worked for John E. Mills in his law office, abstract company and Ralls County Prosecuting Attorney’s office. She purchased the Ralls County Abstract Company in the late 1960’s and soon became a permanent fixture in the Ralls County Courthouse, looking up real estate records in the offices of the Assessor, Recorder and Probate Court. While at the courthouse she enjoyed to stop and chat, forming many life-long friendships. She retired in 2010.
    After the death of her parents, she was raised by her brother, Sammy Colburn and his wife, Elma Lee. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Courtney Eugene Brown in 1950 and Sammy Colburn Brown in 1968, and also by her husband on March 18, 1999, and her son on January 4, 2010. She is survived by two step-children, Wanda Barnard and Gary Graham, both of St. Louis, Mo., and numerous friends in Ralls County, who will cherish the memory of her smile and caring personality.
    Memorials may be made to the  Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Repertory Theater of St. Louis in care of Smith Funeral Home & Chapel.
    Honorary pallbearers will be friends, Debby Rhodes, Sandy Bangert, Connie Jones, Rhonda Pickett, Donna Williams and Mary Lee Lemon.
    Pallbearers will be Bob Ross, Dr. Ken Haller, John Briscoe, Mike Lanier, Marlin Graham and James F. Lemon.
