Gov. Jay Nixon on Wednesday appointed Melissa Kempke of Curryville as the new clerk for Pike County. The position of clerk became vacant upon the resignation of County Clerk Bob Kirkpatrick.
Kempke, a Democrat, is the current Chief Deputy Clerk and has worked in the office for more than 10 years. She previously served in the Pike County Prosecuting Attorney’s office. Kempke has been an active volunteer in Scouting and with Special Olympics.
