Does punishment outweigh risk?
I was reading with concern the article in the Courier-Post on Tuesday, Dec. 11. Ronda Oswalt admitted to stealing more than $52,000.  Her punishment: Restitution of $54,000 and probation. So, her only punishment is giving back what she stole? There is NO punishment here. What message is this sending?  WHEN you steal and IF you get caught, your punishment,  pay it back  and don’t get caught again for the next five years. Seems to me the punishment doesn’t out weigh the risk.   Something is wrong with our Judicial system that needs to be fixed.
