The Hannibal wrestling team traveled to Kirksville over the weekend for the Kirksville Tournament.

While there, the Pirates participated in five duals, winning all but one of them. Hannibal beat Fatima, Tolton Catholic, Ladue, and Centerville, Iowa while losing only to Pleasant Valley.

As a team, the Pirates finished third place overall.

In the individual portion of the tournament, Hannibal had several grapplers take first in their weight class. Senior Jake Borgmeyer won the heavy weight division while Chandler Fohey took first in the 113 weight class. Also placing first was Colby Collings in the 145 weight class. All three wrestlers went 8-0 during the individual rounds.

Second place finishers for the Pirates included Courvaria Rogers (195), Austin Janes (106), and Tyler Janes (132). Rodgers went 4-3 during the individual rounds while the Janes brothers went 5-2 (Austin Janes) and 6-2 (Tyler Janes).

Brant Dooley went 7-2 and finished third in the 182 weight division. Austin Hawes turned in a 5-4 performance in the 220 weight class while Eli Ratliff went 6-3 in the 138 weight as both grapplers finished in fourth place of their weight classes.

Noah Ratliff went 4-5 individually and was the final Pirate wrestler to place. Noah Ratliff took sixth in the 152 weight class.
