Two Hannibal residents were arrested following a weekend incident at a local hotel.
According to the Hannibal Police Department, at 2:05 a.m. Saturday officers received information that a subject with an active warrant was staying at a hotel in the 3600 block of McMasters. Upon arrival, officers contacted 24-year-old David A. Maldonado of Hannibal.
Maldonado was arrested for open liquor and searched. Located on him were several capsules of what was believed to be heroin and a large amount of marijuana. Officers received consent to search the hotel room the subject was believed to be in and located more capsules, syringes and drug paraphernalia.
Also located and arrested was a 25-year-old Hannibal woman, Rashonda M. McClure. She had an active probation and parole warrant and an active misdemeanor warrant from Marion County. McClure was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Maldonado was charged with manufacture and delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and open liquor.
Both subjects were placed on 24-hour holds at the Pike County Jail, pending warrants. On Dec. 8 a warrant was issued in the Circuit Court of Marion County charging David Allen Maldonado with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver. Bond was set at $100,000 cash only. At last report Maldonado remained in custody.
