Troop B of the Missouri State Highway Patrol has announced the results of Operation S.T.O.P. enforcement activities conducted during November. Operation S.T.O.P. (Stop, Think, Observe, and Proceed) is a traffic enforcement program aimed at reducing traffic crashes at intersections having a higher rate of traffic crashes.
On Nov. 15 Operation S.T.O.P. was conducted in Randolph County on U.S. 63 at Routes B and P; on Nov. 27, in Macon County on U.S. 63 at Route M; and on Nov. 28, in Shelby County on U.S. 36 at Route FF.
As a result of the operations, troopers assisted by a Patrol aircraft issued a total of 22 traffic citations and issued 21 traffic warnings. The following citations were issued: 13 citations were issued for stop sign violations; five citations were issued for seat belt violations; one citation was issued for a child restraint violation; three citations were issued for insurance violations.
