  • The Hannibal Board of Public Works air compressor replacement project at the Waste Water Treatment Plant has been completed, according to Bob Stevenson, general manager of the BPW.
The work started at 6 a.m. Monday and concluded ahead of schedule at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Stevenson reports both machines successfully started up and were verified by the factory service rep.
Stevenson praised BPW workers for a “stellar job of teamwork and hustle to complete our compressor outage two days early.”
The project cost the Sewer Fund roughly $250,000 for new compressors, ancillary equipment, materials and labor. Stevenson estimates that because BPW personnel was used to perform the installation it saved its customers in the neighborhood of $150,000 in contract labor.
