Wanda L. Holland, 90, of Monroe City, Missouri, passed away 12:59 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2012, at Hannibal Regional Hospital, Hannibal, Missouri. She was born December 28, 1921, in Shelbyville, Missouri, the daughter of Henry and Gertrude Day Griffin. She attended Douglass School, Hannibal, Missouri. Wanda was a member of the Monroe City Second Baptist Church, Monroe City, Missouri. She worked for the Henderson Produce Company, Monroe City and Kulhman Diecasting Company, Monroe City, Missouri. She also sewed and ironed clothes in her home for area families.
She married Henry Holland April 16, 1940, in Monroe City, and he preceded her in death January 18, 1981.
Survivors include 9 grandchildren, Betty Holland Mayfield, Denise Holland Lewis, Cheron Holland, Richard Holland, Vernon Holland, Kent Holland, Brent Holland, Renard Holland and Reginald Holland. Also surviving are numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and 1 daughter-in-law, Betty Holland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 sons, Henry Lloyd Holland and Richard Holland, 4 sisters, 3 brothers and a daughter-in-law.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at the Garner Funeral Chapel, Monroe City, Missouri. Rev. Albert Cartmill will officiate. Burial will be at the St. Jude Cemetery, Monroe City, Missouri. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Tuesday until time of services at the Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brent, Kent, Vernon and Richard Holland. Active pallbearers will be Randy Sparkman, Kent Holland, Jordan Holland, Micah King, Brandan Wilson and Auviar Williams.
