Doris Ann Jones, of Union, Missouri, was born September 15, 1932, in Glascow, Missouri, the daughter of the late Jacob Shively and his wife, Avel Shively, nee Fisher. She passed away Thursday, November 15, 2012, in Washington, Missouri, at the age of 80 years.
She received her education in Monroe City, Missouri. Doris was united in marriage to Mr. Donald Jones, September 17, 1950 in Monroe City. They made their home in Hannibal, Missouri and moved to Union, Missouri in 1956. Mrs. Jones had worked with her daughters, Vickie and Marsia at the Vickies One Meal or More Food Trailer in the Washington Industrial Park from 1998 until 2001.
Doris was a member of the St. Gertrude’s parish in Krakow, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Jones, January 17, 1984, and one brother, Carl Shively.
Mrs. Jones is survived by her son, Don W. Jones and his wife, Elizabeth Stoodley, of Union, MO; two daughters, Vickie Jones Pues and her husband, Patrick, of Union, MO; Marsia Jones Scego and her husband, Dan, of Washington, MO; four grandchildren: Sarah Penton of Union, MO; Emily Hogan and husband, Brad, of Gilbert, AZ; Tyson Jones and his wife, Melissa, of Union, MO; Erin Scego of Chicago, IL; three great grandchildren: Olivia Penton, Trinity Penton, and Max Hogan. Also by one brother: Shorty Shively and his wife, Helen, of Hannibal, MO; three sisters: Emma Jean Shively of Monroe City, MO; Genieve Jones of Hannibal, MO; Evelyn Kropf of Mexico, MO, one sister-in-law Therese Shively, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and her beloved dog Riggs.
Visitation was held from 1-5 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2012 at the Oltmann Funeral Home In Union, MO. Grave Side service was held Monday, November 12, at 12 noon at the GrandView Burial Park in Hannibal, MO.
Memorials were given to Union Food Pantry of Alzheimer’s Association.
