Early voter turnout in Marion County was reported as good, according to County Clerk Valerie Dornberger, who was monitoring the early voting at the Admiral Coontz Recreation Center in Hannibal on Tuesday morning.
Well over 200 voters had cast ballots before 8 a.m. at the old armory, which one poll worker said was very good.
“Too bad it’s not this good for every election,” he said.
The Missouri Secretary of State’s Office is projecting a 72 percent turnout of the state’s registered voters today. In the 2008 general election, actual voter turnout in Missouri was just above 69 percent.
Polls in Missouri will be open until 7 p.m.
