Troop B officers will be participating in Operation C.A.R.E. during the 2012 Thanksgiving holiday weekend. Operation C.A.R.E. (Combined Accident Reduction Effort) is a national traffic enforcement program aimed at making holiday weekends safer. During this enforcement operation, all available troopers will be assigned to patrol Missouri highways.
In addition to Operation C.A.R.E., Troop B officers will conduct a “20-Mile Trooper” enforcement operation on U.S. 61 throughout the Troop B area and selected portions of U.S. 36 and 63, on Wednesday, Nov. 21, and Sunday, Nov. 25. During this operation, officers will be assigned to 20-mile sections of those roadways in an effort to promote safety and reduce traffic crashes on the primary roadways in Troop B.
