An eastern Missouri man is charged with involuntary manslaughter for allegedly drinking and driving before the crash that killed his father.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that 31-year-old Mark Laney of Warrenton is jailed on $50,000 bond.
The accident happened Sunday on Missouri 47 near Warrenton. The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Laney's 1997 Cadillac Eldorado failed to negotiate a curve, left the roadway and overturned. Fifty-year-old Rex Laney of Moscow Mills was ejected and killed.
Mark Laney suffered a cut to the head and abrasions on his back.
The patrol says Laney told officers he and his father had been at a VFW Hall and he knew he had too much to drink. He refused a field sobriety test and toxicology tests aren't yet available.
