  • Edna Mae Hanson, 74, of Milwaukee, Wis., formerly of Monroe City, Mo., passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, in Milwaukee.

  • Edna Mae Hanson, 74, of Milwaukee, Wis., formerly of Monroe City, Mo., passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, in Milwaukee.
    She was born Dec. 22, 1937, in Monroe City, Mo., the daughter of Raymond and Opal Day White.
    She attended Douglass School in Hannibal, Mo., and was a 1956 graduate of Monroe City High School.
    Edna Mae accepted Christ as her Savior at the Second Baptist Church, Monroe City.
    She was employed in Milwaukee County in food services until her retirement. In her leisure time she enjoyed being a volunteer grandmother for the Urban Day Elementary School, traveling and shopping.
    Edna Mae married Eddie Hanson on Oct. 18, 1959, in Peoria, Ill. Their union was blessed with three children.
    Survivors include two sons, Eddie Hanson Jr., Milwaukee, Wis., and Glenn Hanson and wife, Cassady, Peoria, Ill.; daughter, Denise Goodwin and husband, Arthur, Racine, Wis.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Raymond White and wife, Edna, Keokuk, Iowa, Charles White, Hannibal, Mo., Ben White, Monroe City, Mo., Jimmy White and wife, Carolyn, Quincy, Ill., and Carl Mayfield and wife, Toni, Davenport, Iowa; six sisters, Frances White, Sally White, Carolyn White, Kathy (Bill Janes), Troy, Jenna White and Sandra and husband, Orville Minter, all of Monroe City, Mo. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at the Garner Funeral Home, Monroe City, Mo. The Rev. Albert Cartmill will officiate. Burial will be at St. Jude Cemetery, Monroe City.
    Visitation will be from noon until time of services Saturday at the Garner Funeral home, Monroe City.
    Pallbearers will be Kent Holland, Orville Minter, Jamar White, Jordon Holland, Dewayne White, Derrick Minter and Andrae White.
