  • Andy “Ikie” Babyak Jr., 74, of Hannibal, Mo., died at 9:20 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal.
    A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at Holy Family Church in Hannibal. Father Mike Quinn will officiate. Burial with full military honors by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post No. 55 will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, Mo.
    Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
    Mr. Babyak Jr. was born Jan. 28, 1938, in Ilasco, Mo., to Andrew and Ruth V. Barnes Babyak.
    He was married to Jeana Sue Herl on Aug. 5, 1961, in New London, Mo. She preceded him in death Oct. 29, 2011.
    Survivors include two children, Brent Babyak (Patti) of Quincy, Ill., and Andrea Farr (Brad) of Hannibal, Mo.; one sister, Melinda Wright (Greg) of Hannibal, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Vicki Howes (Charlie) of Manchester, Mo.; two grandchildren, Meagan Babyak and Drew Babyak; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was also preceded in death by his parents; and two infant siblings, Donald Eugene and Priscella Mae Babyak.
    Mr. Babyak was a United States Army Veteran. He retired after 43 years as a process engineer from Continental Cement Company. Mr. Babyak enjoyed farming, being on his John Deere Tractor and bailing hay. He liked socializing with family and friends. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and a past member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ilasco, Mo.
    Memorial contributions may be made to Ilasco Area Historical Preservation Society, in care of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
    Pallbearers will be Bill Northcutt, Carl Zupan, Tom Lennon, Ken Tibbits, Mark Northcutt and Drew Babyak.
    Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Hamilton and Kenny Meyer.
