  • Hannibal competes in CMU Band Day

  • Hannibal High School’s Pirate Pride Marching Band was one of 41 bands competing in the Central Methodist University Band Day on Oct. 6.

  • Hannibal High School’s Pirate Pride Marching Band was one of 41 bands competing in the Central Methodist University Band Day on Oct. 6.
    The areas of performance included parade, field, outstanding auxiliary, and outstanding drum major; plus indoor drum line and indoor color guard.
    Multiple judges assigned points to each band in parade and field competitions as well as auxiliaries, color guards, and the drum majors. Indoor competitions for color guards and drum lines were rated separately.
    In the parade competition, in Class 1 North Shelby captured first. Macon also took top honors in the same category in Class 3. Hannibal was third in Class 5 in the parade event.
    In the field event, North Shelby was second in Class 1 while Macon won in Class 3.
    North Shelby’s indoor drum line finished second in Class 1 while Macon took first in Class 3. Hannibal’s drum line was second in Class 5.
