The public is invited to attend the Second Saturday Gallery Night from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Alliance Art Gallery, 112 N. Main St., Hannibal, Mo.
Several artists are featured. The art includes the birds of Matthew Hemminghaus along with original artwork by the members.
Brenda Benson is featuring several of her watercolors, based on the glass sculptures of Dale Chihuly.
Brenda Beck Fisher has hung a new painting celebrating the color green and titled “Lotus Pod,” and J.B. Wright’s photo of autumn trees captures the season.
The jewelers will display necklaces, earrings and bracelets.
The monthly drawing for a piece of artwork will be at 6 p.m. Pat Kerns is donating her “Tangled Pumpkin” as the prize.
W.T. Johnson of Tastefully Simple will bring some of his edible treats.
Current members of the Alliance Art Gallery are Brenda Benson, Mary Ann Brinkley, Ron Cook, Brenda Beck Fisher, Carol Gilliland, Mary Jae, Pat Kerns, Dave Luebbert, Josh McCurdy, Toto Rendlen, Jane Sanders, Debbie Scoggin-Meyers, Kimberly Shinn, Amber Smith, Mary Beth St. Clair, Ann Miller Titus, Marshall Tripp and J.B. Wright.

It states: “Anita passed away unexpectedly Dec. 13, 2005. She was a jeweler, poet and the moving force behind our gallery and the arts community in Hannibal.
“The Hannibal Arts Council presented Anita Sorrill the Paragon Volunteer Award in 2003-2004. This award was for an Outstanding Art Project to a business or organization that has helped pull together a community arts project with recognized success and leadership.
“We honor her memory by continuing in her footsteps to keep the Alliance Art Gallery 112 N. Hannibal, Mo., alive and thriving. Her commitment to ‘A Hand Made Life,’ will inspire us always.”
