Two people suffered injuries in a traffic crash Tuesday afternoon in Lincoln County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the mishap happened at 1 p.m. on Missouri 47 at Route EE.
A 1993 Buick Regal was being driven south on Route EE by 67-year-old Robert W. Hensiek of Wright City. When the Buick failed to stop at a stop sign the car skidded into the path of a 1986 International 88900 operated by 44-year-old Donald L. Riley of Bowling Green. The International struck the Buick on the driver’s side. The International overturned several times before coming to rest off the roadway. The Buick traveled through a field before striking a tree.
Hensiek, who was not wearing a safety device, was flown to Mercy Hospital in Creve Coeur in serious condition. Riley, whose injuries were described as moderate, was taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Hospital West. Riley was wearing a safety device at the time of the accident.
