  • On Monday, Oct. 8, the Missouri Department of Transportation and its contractor will begin milling operations on Missouri 47 at various locations from Troy to Winfield to prepare for an overlay of the existing pavement surface within the next several weeks.
Traffic will be reduced to one lane, and the speed limit reduced to 45 m.p.h. in the work zone with flaggers controlling traffic. Motorists may encounter uneven pavement during construction. Delays should be expected, motorists are urged to use alternate routes if possible. All lanes will be open to traffic at the end of each workday.
Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 10, crews will begin working on shoulder improvements, with work between Troy and Route W required to be conducted from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. to avoid the beginning and ending of the school day and morning commute. Resurfacing work should begin the week of October 15 with crews working at night between Troy and Route W from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.; from Route W to Missouri 79, the contractor will cease operations to avoid the busy commuting period from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The job consists of resurfacing the travel lanes and paving shoulders from just east of U.S. 61 at Troy to Missouri 79 near Winfield.
The project was awarded to G & M Concrete & Asphalt Co., Inc., of Troy at a cost of $1,549,495.88. This work is expected to be completed by mid-November.
