  • A Troy woman was one of two people injured in a traffic crash Monday night in St. Charles County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the crash happened at 10:10 p.m. on southbound Missouri 79, south of old Missouri 79.
A 2002 Pontiac Sunfire, operated by 25-year-old Kevin J. Meyer of O’Fallon, and a 2003 Ford Focus, driven by 32-year-old April M. Barnes of Troy, were both traveling south. As the Sunfire began to make a left turn onto old Route 79 it was struck by the Focus. The Focus then traveled off the road where it struck a concrete street light support.
Barnes, who was wearing a safety device, was left with minor injuries. A passenger in the Ford, 32-year-old Jonathan K. Emory of St. Louis, suffered moderate injuries. Emory was not wearing a safety device.
Both Barnes and Emory were taken by ambulance to St. Joseph Health Center East.
