Daniel Ray Budd, 55, of Hannibal, Mo., died at 2:10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Willow Care Center in Hannibal.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. Brother Gregg Koelliker will officiate. Burial with full military honors by Emmette J. Shields American Legion Post No. 55 will be at Grand View Burial Park.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Thursday at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Mr. Budd was born Dec. 1, 1956, in Hannibal, Mo., to Billy and Helen Wisdom Budd.
He was married to Monica Diggs on Feb. 14, 2004, in Hannibal, Mo. She survives.
Other survivors include his mother, Helen Otte of Hannibal, Mo.; four stepdaughters, Bobi Mathews of Palmyra, Mo., Tone’ Allen of Hannibal, Mo., Kasey Redman of Hannibal, Mo., and Jodie Spurgeon of Columbia, Mo.; one brother, Carl Hirner of Virginia; and three grandchildren, Blake Mathews, Brayden Mathews and Jeremy Allen.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Budd was a United States Navy veteran, having served during the Vietnam War, and later he served with the United States Army Reserves.
He worked as a correctional officer at the Bowling Green Correctional Facility. He enjoyed being with his family. Dan liked motorcycles, race cars and muscle cars. He also enjoyed rock and roll music and fishing. He grew up in the Catholic Church and later attended Hannibal Free Will Baptist Church.
