Fred E. Banks, 73, of Hannibal, Mo., died at 9:03 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, at his home.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal. The Rev. Tim Goodman will officiate.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of services Thursday at the James O’Donnell Funeral Home.
Mr. Banks was born May 13, 1939, in Hannibal, Mo., to Ira F. and Thelma B. Meadows Banks.
He was married to JoAnn Jeffries on July 12, 1956, in Hannibal, Mo. She survives.
Other survivors include three children, Kim Morrow (Dan) of The Colony, Texas, Jeff Banks of Florissant, Mo., and Kevin Banks (Mandi) of Altamont, Ill.; two sisters, Shirley Scott (Gould) of Winfield, Ill., and Marge Garrett (Louis) of Hannibal, Mo.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother; John R. Banks; and one sister-in-law, Janice Garner.
Mr. Banks retired from the Norfolk and Southern Railroad as a chief dispatcher. He was a Christian by faith.
