Phyllis Collver, 77, of Pittsfield, Ill., passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at her residence in Pittsfield.
Phyllis Collver, 77, of Pittsfield, Ill., passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at her residence in Pittsfield. Phyllis was born Dec. 25, 1934, in Detroit, Ill., a daughter of A.L. and L. Katherine Dolbow Smith.
She married James “Tip” Collver on Oct. 27, 1962, and he survives.
Phyllis graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1953 and had worked for the State of Illinois in Springfield, Air National Guard in Arlington Heights, Ill., Pittsfield City Hall and Pike County Health Department for 22 years.
Phyllis was presently co-owner of Collver Winery in Barry, Ill., since 2002. She was a member of the Barry Business Association.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crossword puzzles, collecting depression glass, going to auctions, playing games on the computer, reading, playing cards, watching soap operas, flower gardening and playing bridge.
Phyllis is survived by her husband “Tip” and three children, Andrea (Les) Hess, Tim and Andy Collver, all of Pittsfield; and grandchildren, Rachel and Matthew Hess and Jace and Julia Collver. Additional survivors are a brother, Paul (Mary Jane) Smith of St. Peters, Mo.; three nieces and two nephews; six great-nieces and four great-nephews; one great-great-niece and one great-great-nephew.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield. Interment will be in the West Cemetery in Pittsfield.
Visitation will be on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield.
Memorials are suggested to be made to the West Cemetery, Blessing Hospice of Pike County or donor’s choice.
