  • Great River Honor Flight, the Tri-States chapter of the Honor Flight program, has flown 420 Veterans to Washington D.C. since it was established in October of 2009.
    The next flight is scheduled Tuesday, Oct. 2. This 155h mission will depart from the Quality Inn & Suites, Hannibal, Mo., early in the morning. Veterans and guardians will be transported by Charter Bus to St. Louis Lambert International Airport, where they will board a flight to Baltimore and then travel by bus to our nation’s capital.
    After visiting the World War II Memorial, the veterans will visit other memorials in the city including Korean, Vietnam, Lincoln, Air Force and Iwo Jima. They will finish their day with a visit to Arlington National Cemetery’s Tomb of the Unknown.
    A direct flight back to St. Louis will end in a charter bus ride to Hannibal, which is expected to arrive shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday at the Quality Inn & Suites.
